Why you shouldn’t microwave a cell phone
“Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?” - Friedrich Nietzsche
a fictional malevolent entity that first appeared in the short story ”The Call of Cthulhu”. The character is described as being “…an octopus, a dragon, and a human caricature…. A pulpy, tentacled head surmounted a grotesque scaly body with rudimentary wings”.
fictional? oh shit. we know who is gonna die first.
most folks get all nostalgic and shit on the holidays. any holiday really. birthdays. whatever date is important to them. they’re busy marking time. the greatest human construct. the measuring of moments. organizing them. cataloging sequence ‘lest we forget’ who the fuck we are. there are ‘days’ i remember. i can’t say i remember the ‘date’ that belonged to the ‘day’. holidays are cool, if they make you happy. i like them because they make people i care about happy. i hate them because they make people i love sad. personally, i don’t care either way. i’m not attached to them. i love people. not days. not time. i can’t hug time. i can’t hug a memory. i’d sound foolish to tell a memory “I love you.” dealing with the present moment is hard enough sometimes without thinking about last year or last week or a decade ago. so i don’t. take my advice. now is what you have. quit fucking around and be something now. be happy. do what makes you happy. not happy, satisfied. find what satisfies your soul. contentment and satisfaction are the keys. contentment is easy. stop comparing yourself to others. be yourself, by yourself. once you’re content, satisfaction comes easy. i’m not saying you should settle. always push forward, but don’t let that push cripple your happiness.
what i wanted to state before i started rambling, don’t let time drag you down. live now. you can’t live yesterday. enjoy these pictures my daughter took of her Frankie doll hugging Godzilla.
